See the “jewel of Versailles,” the tiny theatre built specially for her, and end your visit at her picturesque Normandy village, complete with vineyard, farm and vegetable gardens. Away from the crowds, in the company of an expert local guide, uncover the secret parts of this incredible palace and the places that once only Queens, Kings, and their closest friends were allowed. |
"Our tour guide was fantastic. He was so personable and very knowledgeable. We've been on a guided tours on this trip to France, and this was by far the best. I would recommend this to work for everyone."
You will meet your guide in Versailles at the top of the Grand Canal. Detailed instructions are on your voucher. Please note that it is approximately 20 minutes walk from the Palace, and that you will need to purchase a ticket to enter the gardens. |
We recommend this tour for people who are already in Versailles visiting the palace in the morning, or who have been before and know how to get themselves through the gardens to the Grand Canal. You can come to Versailles on the suburban RER C train to Versailles Rive Gauche Chateau or by taxi. |
This is a very different visit, giving you a much better understanding of Marie-Antoinette’s life at Versailles. Her mansion is much smaller than the palace, and it is still fully furnished. The gardens are a very different style to the formal gardens, and the whole area is much less crowded. |
There is a reasonable amount of walking outside, we will visit her gardens and walk through them to her village and farm. It is an easy walk, but can get muddy if it has rained a lot so please wear comfortable shoes. |
We will visit inside the Petit Trianon, her private mansion. The houses in her village are not open and are viewed from outside. |
